Catalyst ‘08, baby on his way, serving Old Fourth Ward during the election, Gearing up to give 2-4000 of dollars away for Christmas, launching March ‘09 in downtown Atlanta, new friends- ROOV….
So many things have taken place over the month or so that I dont think I have enough blog space to tell you about it! Just know that I have grown, am growing and am so excited about what God is doing in our lives!!!
Zion Joel Owens will be here in less than a month!! I am so pumped I cannot wait!!
I am off to Lynchburg, VA tomorrow looking forward to it, although i am going to miss the Heck out of Esther.

My heart and prayers go out to those devastated by Ike.
I have heard from most of my family and all seems to be well. I have no clue to the amount of damage that has been done to my hometown of Port Arthur, TX. I just keep praying that everything is OK. I continue to remind myself that “things” can be replaced, but people cannot.
Please join me in prayer for those who are now homeless, or have nothing to go back to, for those who may have lost a loved one in this storm, for those who are without water and electricity, and for the states of Texas and Louisiana that FEMA, our government, THE CHURCH, and other organizations who help in CRISIS will not drop the ball and will come to the aid of those in need.
was one hair raising night!!!! Esther and I finally laid down to bed around 12:30 or so and a very short time after that she began to complain of having trouble breathing and her heart rate increasing. The second night in a row!!! But it was not until she noticed that Zion, the baby, was not moving at all. I know you are thinking, well maybe he was sleeping, but understand Esther does not get much rest where he is concerned. He kicks, flips, pokes, elbows, knees and a whole host of other fun things to her stomach almost ALL day everyday. At night I have to play music to her stomach just so that he will settle down and allow her to fall asleep, so for him to not be moving was ALARMING for us. Not to mention the pressure of the this past Dec. looming in our not so distant memory where we lost a child, so we rushed to the hospital praying and holding hands the entire way.
Amazingly enough, God is so AWESOME, as soon as the nurse strapped the monitors to Esther’s stomach Zion began to KICK! and from that point on we heard his heartbeat,and a number of other kicks, pokes, prods, and flips after that. I leaned over to Esther and said, we should never complain about the kicks again! LOL! We still are not 100% sure why the breathing issues occur when Esther lays down, the nurse and others have their ideas. So for now she has to sleep proped up and cant lay flat, she might disagree but from my view point it is a small price to pay for the PROMISE to be delivered to us safe and sound, We love you ZION JOEL OWENS!!!!
Continue to pray for her health and little Zion in your quiet time today and this week!
I know I do this every chance I get, but you really dont understand how gracious, loving, concerned and AWESOME the staff is at WRC! I went in to a meeting at 12:30 today and they ALL demanded I go home!! I love my new family!!!
A year and a half ago this journey began in the living room of our loft. God whispered and shared with me that today, January 1st 1997 is the first day of your church. Well today, I sort of feel like Abraham. On that day I knew God was telling me to go and honestly I had NO CLUE of where I was going or what I was doing! And sometimes today I still dont know either one of those! The difference is that today when I dont know or feel overwhelmed or unsure, I know that it is times like this when I have a chance to deepen my relationship and trust in God. Because like Abraham, I have no choice but to depend on Him, who made the promise, I have no choice but to rely on Him who sees tomorrow when I barely know what today will hold, I have no choice but to throw my hands in the air and like Solomon say, “God I am but a child and know not what to do”.
I have made mistakes, I have made bad decision, and I have stuck my foot in my mouth a time or two. OK, maybe a few times. But today! Today was like I was handed the keys to the Kingdom. Today appeared to be the day when God said here is merely a glimpse into my AWE INSPIRING POWER. Here, lies the keys to the next chapter in your journey. I am including a link to pics of the house, because I know some of the haters out there are saying yeah he got a house, but it probably is a FEMA trailer or some shack!!!! To the family at West Ridge, I thank you, my family thanks you, and we love you! Perry Noble said it best yesterday, a long story i may tell someday. He said you dont often find many Kingdom minded people like that. So, West Ridge, Brian Bloye, Jim Akins, and the entire staff from the bottom of our hearts we appreciate you for this opportunity!
I am so ready to take over the world for the KINGDOM OF GOD!

I neglected in my earlier post to thank some very very important people. It was not that long ago that I enlisted the prayers of friends and you have come through like gang busters. I have never felt such humility and honor in my life. And recently even more of you have joined in to keep me, my family, and a peculiarplace before God in your private prayer time. I know that without you and your prayers things would be different, and I would feel more like I felt when you were not on board, alone. I asked you to pray for my friends and you did! I asked you to pray for our finances and you did!
This post is for you. The internship, the house, the finances, the Favor, the relationships and ALL the other things that have come to my family and myself.
I love you and none of this would be possible without you. We have only just begun and the journey is being written by God, I am just happy and excited to be on this ride with you. I know for at least two weeks now I have been promising some very important and grand news. I have not forgotten or mislead any of you. We are in the process of some very exciting things that only God could be working in the Earth. Please stay tuned as we finalize the details!!!
I have several people that I would truly be grateful for if you were to include them in your prayer time. As a church planter, pastor and man of God I have come to KNOW (in the intimate sense) the need for prayer, not just myself but from others as well. There are a few church planters whom I know who are requiring our prayer assistance.
First, Jason Salamun, who is planting Project Church in South Dakota. This guy in a very short amount of time has truly become my brother from another mother. I cant tell you how much his friendship means to me and how much more his success as a church planter and pastor mean to the Kingdom of God. They are a couple of days into their last 90 of preperation before their public launch. They are in need of finances, people, a location, people, did i mention finances and the continued Favor of God. Come on people go to God like you have never gone to him before on behalf of someone other than yourself! RAPID CITY IS NEVER EVER GOING TO BE THE SAME!!!!
Then there is Adam Walker. He is planting The Gathering in Decatur where it is Greater!!!! Adam and I met months ago and there was an instant connection. Esther and his wife, Jessica, have formed a bond and I believe in this guy! He and God are going to turn Decatur inside out for the Kingdom of God. They are in need of God meeting every financial need for the church as well as them personally, the Favor of God in their housing search, equipment ($10,000 worth) and people. Let’s get over it people it takes money to make these thing happen! Come on people go to God like you have never gone to him before on behalf of someone other than yourself!
There is also Joshua Roberts. He is planting Connect Rome in Rome, GA. He and I met online and have both been busy and unable to connect, be he is super creative, pretty funny, and truly loves God. The best part is they are going to be meeting in a bar in Rome. I am so stoked about what the vision God has given him. They are believing God for 75 to be at their next launch meeting and $7500.00 for the month of June. Now for us this and any of these request might be a tall order to fill, but for God… THIS IS NOTHING!!! Come on people go to God like you have never gone to him before on behalf of someone other than yourself!
Several other church planters to keep in prayers and thoughts, Shaun King who is planting Courageous Church also in Downtown Atlanta; My new friends West Ridge Church and their pastor Bryan Bloye; my dude, J.R. Lee in Acworth who is rippin it up and calling to check on my crazy behind from time to time, that mean at lot to me, you have no clue, my other brother from a different mother Olu Brown and Impact Church in the West End… these guys are doing it!!!
I want to thank ALL of you for taking out the time to one read my blog, i know you are tired of me begging you, and for taking something this is very dear to me and making it dear to you by praying for these guys and their families. A sign of maturity as a believer is simply when you are not the center of your prayer life. It is also a sign of the kind of love that God loves ALL of us with! Enough of me, GO PRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to personally reach out to all of you who have emailed, or commented here concerning our night of prayer.
All of you who came into agreement with us, who took time to pray with us.
Let me tell you this your presence was truly felt. The annointing was so incredible!

Tomorrow at 7pm the peculiarpeople will be meeting for prayer.
Why am I sharing this… well simple if any of you remember and have a moment between the hours of 7-8pm I would totally appreciate it if you would simply join us in agreement during that time. I am not asking you to stop what you are doing, or pull over on the side of the road or anything drastic, but if you remember simply let God know that you too are standing in agreement with a peculiarplace for their prayer needs.
