An Outsider

Hello,

My name is lloyd owens jr. I am the proud and humble (sometimes i look at how beautiful she is and wonder if she made a mistake) husband of Esther, father of Jah, Tyler and Zion, friend, brother, son, and pastor of peculiarplace, coming to downtown Atlanta in 2009.

This is such an honor and privilege to serve God in this way. Mind you I ran from my calling for a very long time, a very long time! Let me tell you submitting to God, whew it is and will be everyday the best decision I made and continue to make!

We are in the phase one of our launch plans, and excited about what God is doing in our lives, in the body of Christ, and for His Kingdom. We have started with an introduction website www.whatispeculiar.com just to serve as an lead in to who we are, what we believe, and what God has called us to do. Although we have been meeting since Jan. of this year, this still feels brand new, sometimes i want to quit (but i KNOW i cant), i have watched people grow into mighty men and women of God, I performed our first baptism (we need lots of rain, so we can use Lake Lanier again), i just witnessed the birth of our two newest members (two mighty men of God), and we have so much more in store.

Thank you for stopping by and please come back. I hope to keep things relevant, answers questions, create even more questions, and maybe just maybe start a little trouble!

Why Therst, with an “e”?

The “e” stand for eternal. Not in that you will thirst eternally, we know what Jesus said about that, dont we? Eternal Life! The Zoe Life. The Life God intended for US at creation. Heaven on Earth. Life and Life more abundantly! I was so thirsting for someone that look like me, that would not judge me for my past, or my present, for my tat’s, my locs, the way i dress or even talk. At the same time I was thirsting for MORE of God, and now i am here, with my family and God’s church, working to see people who look like me or feel like me come to know God and the redeeming power of Christ! So let us therst no more, for the living water is in the building!

Not sure what i’m talking about then pull up a chair and lets talk!

in Christ,
an outsider

i’m in midtown, would love to chat and see if there’s anything i can do to help. chat soon,
rob

Hi Lloyd (& Esther),

Just stopped by to say ‘hi’. I am so proud of your walk with the Lord as well as your message to your generation and those that follow (as well as those who came before – smile!)

I love your site! Thanks for your walk…your example…your strength…faith and courage. We are blessed to witness all of it!

Lots of love, joy and support…

Drea
