last night…
Posted in: Get Naked, LIFE, grow, leadershipEsther and I were enlighted and rejuvinated as we began out first class of Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University! Now I must admit this is not for the faint of heart, at all! You must be honest, disciplined (Lord, please help me in this area), and committed to getting out of debt! There is no quick fix, or magical pill, or some other hocus pocus to getting out of debt! God will do His part, but you my friend MUST do your part, there is nothing to put His super on if you do not provide the natural!!
Just wanted to share a little glimpse of what is going on in our lives… I have a ton of stuff to write this week, so I hope that you stay tuned and excited about what God is doing!!!

Dave Ramsey is good stuff – I’ve done Ron Blue’s Money Matters and Crown Ministries and F.P.U. and while Money Matters is Factual and Crown is Biblical, F.P.U. is both of those PLUS emotional – Ramsey finds a way to get you to take those same emotional energies you put into rooting for your favorite team or struggling against a tough opponent on the court or field & invest & apply them to getting out of debt. Money is an emotional issue, which is obvious by how divisive it can be in any relationship, and Ramsey believes we should treat it as such and control that & invest positive emotions (thus the snowball plan) instead of let it control us and react to it. If someone is interested in F.P.U. but their spouse is not interested in participating in F.P.U. with them, I think they should seek some family counseling to reconcile themselves so that both are willing to commit to it (o.k., I’m being a little extreme to make my point, but it is a great program that can change lives, but it is heart wrenching if you’re the one interested in taking some drastic short term measures to change your long term future and your spouse is not willing to be extreme).
